the roller coaster that is slimming world

So about a month a go i decided to join slimming world after trying the military chemical diet for 3 days and thinking what the hell am i doing! [seriously, don't put yourself through crazy stuff like that] I was starving and bored of tomatoes and grapefruits.

After googling ' does slimming world work' for about 6 hours one evening, [time well spent in my eyes] I thought f it! i cant do this. I went online and looked where my local groups were and picked one that suited me. I asked a friend to come and do it with me but she pulled out so i had to be a big girl and go on my own.

In the last year i've put on about a stone, yep a stone! I'm bigger now than what i was when mason was a year old and my confidence is at an all time low. I live in baggy white tees and leggings, quite frankly its rank! So enough was enough.

Going to my first group was daunting, I was imagining this group of clicky mums and women who got weighed and they show your weight to everyone and you get it all shouted out and everything so clearly this sent my anxiety into overdrive and i was nearly sick outside before i walked in. After i composed myself I walked in, albeit a little bit sweaty and clammy even the lady at the door said i looked terrified and i was, but i said to her i was looking to join and she sat me at a table to the side and told me to wait for the consultant to come over.

Im a people watcher so of course i took these 5 minutes to sit and watch, it was really busy and not at all what i thought it would be. But the consultant came over and explained the whole plan to me and then i was off to pay and be weighed.

Being weighed was the biggest shock to my system i have had in a while. i was a lot heavier than i thought, and yes everyone says its just a number but it was a bloody big number and i was mortified! but i used that as motivation and a good starting point to get this weight off!

I didn't stay to the group that day and i still haven't as im not quite ready to small talk with strangers and theres not always someone to have mason while i'm there. but i will soon!

4 weeks in and i've lost 7.5lbs which 'im really happy with. The first week i was expecting a massive loss i mean i hadn't ordered a pizza this week that's good right ? but i only lost 2.5lbs. The second week i lost 4lbs, the 3rd week 1lbs and the 4th week i maintained which bummed me out a bit but im back on it again this week!
What i've found is that the plan isn't restrictive. not like these #leanin15 or gym goers diets where they say its not restrictive but really you have a choice of broccoli, spinach or broccoli, but with slimming world it really does give you the option to have a twix one day or enjoy that take away by making small changes. Its something that can be applied to the whole family which is great, and it really is simple to follow, and i think the biggest bonus is i'm not bored. I mean my attention span is bad, a 4 year olds is probably better, but there are so many things you can make, so many recipes online you cant really get bored. If your following my Instagram your'll see some of the meals i've been eating, but for those of you who aren't [urmm follow me] ill post some of them below.

I'm thinking of doing a 2 weekly update, maybe a monthly one because we all know how i never stick to anything, to let you guys know how i'm getting on!
