i'll have a Piz'za Pisa

[ I'll have a piece of Pisa]

Ive just got back from 3 days in Tuscany and it was everything I imagined. The buildings, the people, the views and of course the Pizza. Italy was good for my soul and was exactly what the doctor ordered.

I went with my best mate, one of those ones where we've known each other since school and seem to be getting closer as we get older. shes a gem. We managed to do our trip relatively cheaply with flights for about £60 each and hotel was £86 each. We flew with Ryanair and EasyJet. [tip; check skyscanner and kayak for cheap flights]

We stayed in a lovely hotel; Grand Hotel Duomo, with view of the Leaning Tower of Pisa from our window and for 2 night for the price we paid it was lovely and i couldn't recommend it more.

They had a terrace on the 5th floor with amazing views and in the evening you can have little nibbles and there is a bar, win win. Apart from the very thin walls i cant fault the hotel. so central to all the cafes, resturants and the tower you cant loose. We walked alot this holiday and you can walk from the hotel to the main train station in about 20 mins.

Pisa is alot smaller than i thought, you can genuinely walk everywhere you need to go,although if you do decide to use the bus make sure you validate your ticket on the machine.[i will explain why in the next post about Florence]

Once you've seen the Tower and Cathedral in Pisa there's not really much else to do, which means you have to go and do a bit of exploring. Walk around the back streets, find cute little coffee shops, pick which  gelato shop looks most appealing and just enjoy the culture. Like i said you can walk everywhere and once you get your baring it pretty simple to navigate your way around. Head towards the Canal and you will be fine.

The first day was spent exploring, eating pizza and ice cream and drinking beer [ it was always cheaper than a lemonade or coke]

In the evenings all the little resturants turn all cute with guys and guitars and pretty little lights. The prices are so good, roughly 5-7Eur for a pizza or pasta dish and then 3Eur for a beer and 4 for a spitz [very yummy, goes straight to your head]
Sun set wasn't until 9 so it was still warm and light, the perfect settings for drinks with a view.

All in all Pisa is beautiful, and i would certainly go back because i know for sure there is more to explore.
