#flashbackfriday- Mason's 2nd birthday at Disneyland Paris
11:29:00
when i was in my teens for some weird reason i was asked when i would want kids, i said when i was at least 27 and could afford to take them to disneyland. oh how life had a different plan for me! Also why did my mean mother never take me to disneyland!
so if your planning to take you child to disneyland my biggest and most important tip would be...wait! honestly i wish i listened to my man when he said mason was too young but i didnt and he was right and he wont ever let me live it down. mason was 2 and a disney fan but expecting a 2 year old to stand in queues was asking a bit much! other than that, if your kid loves disney then go!
i booked the trip on the cheap, we flew with easy jet, stayed offsite, and probably done the whole 3 days on £500 with change. it is perfectly do able. but this was masons birthday party presents and everything else that comes with your little diamonds getting that one year older.
it was great, masons reaction to the whole thing was amazing! he knew what the disney castle was and he loved it. we went in half term... wednesday night-friday night crazy i know but surprisingly not as busy as i thought it would of been. i joined a group on facebook a month before we went which was dedicated to brits going over to DLP (Disneyland paris) and it was the best thing i could of done, i knew what times were better to see characters and where the best places where to stand for the parades! i think i impressed the mr! i mean we queued 20 mins to see mickey mouse!
the weather was lovely and warm in may and the nights drew out so the part was open later. mason was tall enough for most rides and the longest time we had a queue was 45 mins and that was for the flying dumbo ride. we prefered the disney stuidos alot more and spent most of our time there as that more of what mason was in to. the home of toy story and mcqueen he was in his element.
the parades made me cry, only because mason was so happy and disney play this weird song that made me think i was a kid again. so yeah i cried. i also cried at the fireworks! im not too sure this was a normal reaction so i hid behind my camera in the hopes that no one noticed!
we took mason to a character meal for his birthday dinner- kinda a waste of time and money, the food was crap and we had already met mickey so it was a bit of a anti climax. and to add to the situation, mason threw up 10 mins before we were meant to go in, i think it was from excitement or the weird french milk. either way we had to go and buy a new outfit from the shop.. 65EUR LATER!!!! 65eur do you know how much i could buy in zara for that!!!
anyway other than the sick and the meal we actually had a really good trip. me and mr.r had a chance to sit down while mason was napping and really think 'was it worth it' and at that moment in time i cried and said no! mason wasnt great at queuing and he wasnt good at the table but what 2 year old is when they're on a disney high! but looking back now it was an experience im glad we went on it prepared us for our flight to eygpt and was a test drive for the airport. the pictures show we had an amazing time and thats what mason will see when hes older and to be honest that's all i want. he still remembers going, when he sees the advert on tv he says ' i been der' 'i see disney castle' so as long as he knew we went and it was fun for him, i don't care that it was hell for us! (hell/disney/disney with a 2 year old... same thing basically)
would i go back?... yes without mason at the moment. but id love to afford to take him to america when hes 5 or 6.
if you're planning a trip and need any help please just send me an email i will be happy to help you if i can! and if any of you have been how did you find it ? let me know!
